Blog #1. The Great Gatsby

I choose 'The Great Gatsby' for my individual reading book. I read only untill chapter 1. One chapter was pretty short; however, I could not understand, I had to read same passage over and over again. The first chapter was very interesting. A person who led the story in this book was Nick Carraway who is from Minnesota and used to work at the bank. He talked about how he grew and what his father taught him. He is now moved to New York and lives at the West Egg. And East Egg was for the rich. Also right next to Nick's house, there is a big beautiful mension. Nick also introduced his neighbor, Tom and Daisy. They invited Nick to their dinner and Jordan ,the golfer, is introduced. Nick becomes little bit interested to Jordan and Tom and Daisy try to connect those two.

The author of this book wrote this book very interestingly. The author talked in Nick's point-of-view in the book. At the beginning, he talks about that his father taught him not to judge others by first impression, but if you look closely, this is irony. The reason why is because he acts differently from what he said he was.
